October 8, 2009

Acquisition Will Further Strengthen Key Industry Relationships

SPARTANBURG, SC – October 8, 2009 – Milliken & Company announced that it has completed the acquisition of Constantine LLC, effective October 6, 2009. Based in Calhoun, Georgia, Constantine designs, manufactures and markets broadloom and modular carpet tile, as well as resilient and hard surface flooring. Constantine operates four manufacturing locations as well as a distribution center, all within the Calhoun, Georgia area. In total, approximately 300 associates are joining Milliken & Company’s Floor Covering Division following the acquisition.

By acquiring Constantine, Milliken broadens their Floor Covering portfolio of products directed at serving the requirements of commercial specifiers in the architectural and design community.

Constantine is a design leader in the premier commercial floor covering industry. This acquisition will immediately expand our market space while also building on Milliken’s commitment to innovation, technology, and sustainability, said Joe Salley, President and CEO of Milliken & Company. We are excited to have Constantine join the Milliken family.

This transaction represents the strengthening of two organizations that together will offer unique and innovative solutions to the A&D industry, added Bob Weiner, founder and former chairman of Constantine.

The move by Milliken follows several months of strategic organizational and product alignment, focused on strengthening Milliken’s core growth technologies and capitalizing on emerging markets. Given the world’s continuing economic slump, it is encouraging for us to be on the growth side of the business alignment equation, said Richard Dillard, director of public affairs for Milliken. We are excited about what the future holds for Milliken, added Dillard.
