Millrace Capital unveils new brand, reaffirms roots in the Midlands

Millrace Capital, a value-add retail and industrial private equity firm serving the Southeast United States, today announced the launch of its new brand identity, marking the next chapter for the Columbia-based firm.
Founded in 2020 as Millrace Development, the firm has grown into a value-add investment platform focused on retail and industrial real estate across the Southeast, with a track record built on off-market, relationship-driven deal sourcing. The new Millrace Capital name and identity reflect that same local, relationship-first approach the firm was built on. The name itself draws from the Millrace Rapids on the Saluda River near Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia — a nod to the firm’s roots in the community it calls home.

Alongside the new brand, Millrace Capital also announced the opening of a new office at 508 Meeting Street in West Columbia, South Carolina, which will serve as the firm’s headquarters.
As part of this next chapter, Millrace Capital announced that Brendon Block has joined the firm as Director of Business Development and Strategy. In this role, Block will help lead capital formation across debt and equity channels, deepen relationships with limited partners and family offices, and spearhead the firm’s rebrand and broader marketing efforts.
