MIRCI is supported by a charitable contribution to support homeless outreach and Mental Illness in Columbia

September 17, 2019

Janssen Pharmaceuticals Companies of Johnson & Johnson has donated $12,500 to the Mental Illness Recovery Center, Inc. (MIRCI), supporting efforts to assist our community’s most vulnerable population to allow them to live as independently as possible.

For 59 years, MIRCI has supported individuals who are homeless and have severe and persistent mental illnesses.  Through programs such as the Assertive Care Treatment (ACT), best described as a hospital without walls, and Homeless Outreach, over 1000 individuals were served in 2018.

“We are thankful to have support from Janssen Pharmaceuticals. We look forward to continuing our work in the community, providing a pathway to recovery,” said MIRCI’s Executive Director, Julie Ann Avin.
