Mitsubishi Polyester Film aids local charities

GREER, SC – December 29, 2012 – Mitsubishi Polyester Film, Inc., employees delivered a truck load of food and more than $5,200 to two local charities last week.

The Greer Soup Kitchen received $3,300, which included $1,650 from employees and a match from the company, as well as a pickup truck filled with food donations. Employees and the company also raised an additional $700 from a hunger walk for the Greer Soup Kitchen in November.

In addition, employees raised $636 for the Taylors Free Medical Clinic. That figure was matched by Mitsubishi Polyester Film as well for $1,272 donated.

In total, Mitsubishi Polyester Film and its employees raised $5,272 for these two non-profit groups serving the Greer area.

“Mitsubishi Polyester Film and its employees are proud to give back to this wonderful community,” said Rose Marchek, the company’s human resources director.

The Greer Soup Kitchen is located at 5200 Poinsett Street and relies completely on donations of food and money from businesses, churches and private citizens to fund its mission of providing meals to those who need them. It serves more than 150 meals each day and is open year round.

The Taylors Free Medical Clinic is a faith-based clinic whose mission is to minister to the mind, body and spirit of the medically uninsured and indigent people of the greater Taylors area.
