Molina Healthcare of South Carolina donates $30,000 to support EdCeptional Kids

February 10, 2016

EdVenture Children’s Museum announced that Molina Healthcare of South Carolina will serve as the presenting sponsor of the museum’s EdCeptional Kids program. The $30,000 contribution will support EdVenture’s educational program designed to work with families with children who have disabilities. The grant will specifically fund a series of programs, open houses and a conference, bringing together families, school districts and community resources.

“Molina’s generous contribution will enable families to more easily locate resources for their children with special needs,” said Karen Coltrane, president and CEO of EdVenture. “We are so grateful to Molina Healthcare for understanding the importance for this community need.”

Additionally, on Oct. 15 and Oct. 22, Molina Healthcare will fund half priced admission for the community and free admission to the first 500 individuals who receive SNAP, WIC or Medicaid benefits during Molina Healthcare Day at EdVenture on Oct. 15 and The Children’s Museum of South Carolina respectively. Molina Healthcare will also be the presenting sponsor of Back to School events for children and families in both Richland County and Horry County in early August.

“We are excited to partner with EdVenture to help inspire young minds across the State and fund free to discounted admission on Molina Days so all children have access to learn and engage through interactive exhibits and programs,” said Thomas Lindquist, president of Molina Healthcare of South Carolina. “In addition, the EdCeptional Kids program aligns with Molina’s mission to serve vulnerable populations and provide the tools and resources needed to live healthy lives.”
