Motley Rice Volunteer Project Wins Two Awards and Promotes Year-Round Outreach

MT. PLEASANT, SC – May 31, 2012 – Eighty Motley Rice employees stepped awayfrom their desks and into the community for the Firm’s annual volunteer program,ProjectGO!.

The two days of service, April 18 and 25, 2012, gave employees theopportunity to provide a helping hand to CarolinaYouth Development Center (CYDC), the CharlestonAnimal Society, ElliotboroughPark and Community Garden and SandpiperRehabilitation and Nursing Center

During day two of ProjectGO!, the firm received notice that its 2011 effortshad been honored with both the 2012 Communitas Award for Company SponsoredVolunteer Projects and a 2012 Hermes Creative Gold Award in the Community Relations category for the branding, design and promotion ofthe volunteer project.

We are always thankful for the support we’ve receivedfrom the Lowcountry over the years and believe that it is our responsibility togive back as much as we are able. The firm has already begun to see theprogram’s far-reaching impact as the vegetables harvested at CharlestonParks Conservancy’s Elliotborough Park site were donated to CrisisMinistries and served for dinner that very week. Employees who met andspent time with Sandpiper resident Earl Glines were also inspired to spread theword about his skillfully-crafted handmade hammocks ($60) and drop nets($15).
