Moultrie Southern Cuisine & Spirits to Take Center Stage at Taste of the Upstate
April 19, 2026One of Laurens’ own restaurants is stepping into the spotlight as Moultrie Southern Cuisine & Spirits joins the lineup for the highly anticipated Taste of the Upstate.
Chef Zackary Owens, who leads the kitchen at the Laurens-based restaurant, will be among the featured chefs donating their time, talent, and creativity to support Loaves & Fishes Greenville. The annual event not only showcases the Upstate’s culinary talent but also supports the organization’s mission of rescuing food and feeding families in need.
Known for delivering Southern comfort food with a creative edge, Owens recently gave a preview of what’s to come during a television appearance, impressing audiences with dishes like deep-fried deviled eggs and fried polenta and grits—flavors that left a lasting impression.
But the impact of the event goes far beyond the plate.
Each chef participating in Taste of the Upstate is volunteering their time, transforming their culinary skills into meaningful support for families across the region. Every bite enjoyed helps advance the mission of Loaves & Fishes, making the event both a celebration of food and a powerful act of giving.
“We’re incredibly proud of Chef Zackary and excited for him to showcase what makes Moultrie so special on a larger stage,” said Sidney Perkins. “This is a great opportunity for more people to experience his creativity and the flavors that define our kitchen.”
The event will be held at Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Sunday, May 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., bringing together food lovers from across the Upstate.
Tickets are available through Loaves & Fishes Greenville, and attendees are encouraged to come hungry and ready to support a cause that continues to make a difference.
