Main Street Laurens is partnering with the Laurens YMCA to sponsor a 5k run/walk to kickoff Spring on May 15th.
“We are excited to partner with the Laurens YMCA for the Moving on Main initiative,” said Jonathan Irick, Executive Director, Main Street Laurens USA, Inc. “We’re always looking for ways to bring people out to our downtown area and this series fits perfectly with our entertainment Transformation Strategy the Main Street Laurens board adopted in 2019.”
The race will begin at 9:30am on Main Street near SunTrust Bank. Then heading east the route will turn onto the walking trail at the Little River Park. At the end of the trail on Harper Street, the runners will take a left and be challenged by Cemetery Hill before merging right onto the Square at Verdin’s Too. The run will continue down Laurens Street making a left onto Church Street and a quick right onto Main Street. Juts past Downs St, the runners will make a U-turn and finish at SunTrust Bank.
Immediately following the race, everyone is encouraged to join the fun downtown with a band, restaurants and businesses open with race day specials!
