The College of Charleston Department of Athletics has announced plans to pursue funding to make state-of-the-art improvements to the Patriots Point Athletics Complex. Director of Athletics Matt Roberts informed the College’s Board of trustees about the multimillion-dollar capital project during a meeting on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021.

The estimated $14 million project, designed in coordination with McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture firm, seeks to equip the CofC baseball and tennis programs with the facilities necessary to remain competitive both within the Colonial Athletic Association and the national landscape.

  • Spacious locker room with lockers for 45 players
  • Remote athletic training facility with hydrotherapy area
  • Outdoor patio and club room for donors and VIP guests
  • Coaches’ offices

Several significant improvements are scheduled to the existing tennis facility as well, most notably:

  • A clubhouse terrace with retractable canopy
  • Back porch with outdoor kitchen and fire pit
  • Lounge area with views of all courts
  • Remote athletic training facility
  • Resurfacing of all nine courts
  • Installation of cabanas on the singles side
