COLUMBIA, SC – Murphy & Grantland, P.A. is pleased to announce Anthony W. Livoti, shareholder, has been elected as secretary of South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association (SCDTAA), the pre-eminent defense attorney association in South Carolina. Livoti concentrates his legal practice in the areas of insurance defense, trucking and automobile defense, and premises liability. He also is a certified circuit court mediator and has experience in both State and Federal Court.
Prior to joining the firm, Livoti served for four years in the U.S. Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer with two overseas deployments and was a defense trial attorney in the Columbia area. He is a member of the Richland County Bar Association, South Carolina Bar, International Association of Defense Counsel, South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association and the Defense Research Institute. He also has presented numerous continuing legal education seminars on automobile insurance law.
Livoti attended The Citadel, where he obtained his undergraduate degree in political science and graduated cum laude with his juris doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school, he was the articles editor of the South Carolina Law Review and was also a member of the Order of Wig and Robe and Order of the Coif.
