NAMI Charleston Area Invites Community to Walk for Mental Health on October 3 at Palmetto Islands County Park

August 24, 2026

NAMI Charleston Area announces the return of its premier annual fundraising event, NAMIWalks 2026, taking place Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Palmetto Islands County Park in Mount Pleasant.

The community-wide event unites local residents, families, advocates and business partners to raise vital funds, reduce stigma and champion mental wellness across the Lowcountry.

“NAMIWalks is so much more than a walk. Every step represents hope, courage, and a reminder that no one should have to face a mental health challenge alone. When our community comes together to walk, share, support, and raise awareness, we send a powerful message: mental health matters, every story matters, and there is always a place for you here. I’m incredibly grateful for every person who walks beside us and helps move our community toward a future where everyone can find hope and support,” said Lori Smith, executive director of NAMI Charleston Area.
