NAMI South Carolina announces 2026 State Mental Health Conference

NAMI South Carolina announced its 2026 State Mental Health Conference, taking place on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Richland Two Institute of Innovation (R2i2), 763 Fashion Drive, Columbia, SC.
The annual conference will bring together mental health professionals, advocates, healthcare providers, law enforcement, individuals with lived experience, family members, and community leaders from across South Carolina for a day of education, collaboration, and connection. Attendees will enjoy engaging plenary presentations, interactive breakout sessions, networking opportunities, and lunch.
This year’s featured speakers include Tyler McKinzey, Sheriff Leon Lott, and Hannah Wesolowski, along with expert-led breakout sessions covering advocacy, neurodiversity, wellness, lived experience, mental health resources, and innovative approaches to care. Continuing education opportunities include 7 CE hours approved for Law Enforcement through SCCJA (Lesson Plan 7636), 5 SA/MH CLE hours approved (Course #960647), 5 CE hours for EMS, and 5.5 clock hours of continuing education through Mid-Carolina AHEC.* A limited number of peer scholarships are available for individuals living with a mental health condition.

*Continuing Education Information (Mid-Carolina AHEC)
This program is approved for 5.5 clock hours of continuing education by Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc. and meets the SC AHEC Continuing Education Best Practice Standards. Participants must attend 90% of the program to receive a certificate of attendance. No partial credit will be given.
Counselors & Therapists: This program has been pre-approved for 5.5 hours of continuing education by SC AHEC under its accreditation by the SC Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho-Educational Specialists.
Social Workers: This program has been approved by the SC Board of Social Work Examiners for 5.5 clock hours of non-social work continuing education.
