Nance joins Santee Cooper’s operations team

Steve Nance, who brings more than 30 years of experience managing engineering and large construction projects in the power industry in Europe, Asia and the Americas, has been named Santee Cooper’s Director of Nuclear Development and Technical Training.

“As we continue to focus on our sustainable future, it is important to bring in someone with a high-level of experience in nuclear development and team member training, and that is exactly what we got with Steve,” said Chief Operations Officer Mike Finissi.

Nance has served in numerous senior leadership positions in power generation, project management and heavy construction. Throughout his career, he has worked at prominent companies including Stone and Webster, Caterpillar, General Electric and Progress Energy.

Nance received a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University and has held two senior reactor operator licenses. He is an ABET-accredited nuclear instructor and served as Safeguards/Security Program Manager for two companies.
