January 10, 2025

The South Carolina Technical College System Foundation has named midlands-area non-profit leader Naomi Lett as its new Chief Executive Officer. Lett began her new role with the Foundation on January 2, 2025.

As CEO, Lett will work closely with the Foundation’s board of trustees to steer the growth of the organization and expand its strategic programs which address critical workforce and higher education needs in South Carolina.

“I am excited to join the SC Technical College System Foundation and its partners to help build a stronger workforce and economy for South Carolina,” Lett said. “Working together, I believe we can be a key strategic force in addressing the Palmetto State’s key workforce needs while also contributing to stronger families and communities.”

Lett has more than 20 years’ experience in the non-profit sector, driving policy and innovation that improve lives and strengthen communities, including roles with the Peace Corps, the United Way Association of South Carolina, and United Way Worldwide, where she worked with more than 32 states to develop sound policies in areas such as workforce development, financial stability, and education.

“The trustees and staff of the SC Technical College System Foundation look forward to Naomi’s leadership as we move into a period of growth for our organization,” said Ben Rex, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “Naomi’s experience at the local, state and national levels will help us be even more successful at addressing the state’s workforce needs and making South Carolina a national workforce leader.”

The Foundation’s primary partner is the SC Technical College System: the state’s largest higher education system comprised of 16 colleges across the state, serving more than 134,000 South Carolinians each year. The System plays a key role in educating and training South Carolina’s workforce for the in-demand, high-skilled jobs of today and tomorrow.

“We are glad to have Naomi Lett at the helm of our partner foundation,” said Tim Hardee, President of the SC Technical College System. “Naomi’s experience in advocacy and policy development will help drive forward our mutual goals for advancing education and workforce readiness in the state.”
