National fitness brand Koko FitClub to open two Charleston area locations this winter

This winter, national fitness brand Koko FitClub will open two clubs in the Charleston area, one in the Cigar Factory in downtown Charleston and one in the Sweetgrass Corner shopping center in Mt. Pleasant. These clubs, owned and operated by Mark and Jennifer McMahon, will be the company’s first South Carolina locations.
Established in 2007, KoKo FitClub is a non-traditional gym experience that uses digital technology and the latest methods in exercise science to develop workout routines personalized to each member. Individuals work with a certified Koko FitCoach to establish fitness goals and assess current fitness levels upon joining. Then each member receives a customized strength, cardio and nutrition program that changes dynamically as they progress. All data, including progress over time, from Koko’s efficient 45-minute workouts are tracked and can be viewed online from any device. At Koko FitClub, members are never alone, always working with either a certified Koko FitCoach or under the guidance of Koko’s patented digital coaching platform. This ensures that every individual always knows what to do in the gym to get the best results.

McMahon, a native of Melbourne, Australia, brings decades of experience managing and consulting with fitness clubs across the country. A former professional tennis player and certified Master Tennis Professional, McMahon moved to the Lowcountry in 2012 to manage an athletic and social club in Mt. Pleasant before deciding to open the area’s first Koko FitClub locations.
Individuals interested in joining Koko FitClub are encouraged to take advantage of the club’s introductory offer. For just $30, individuals can experience Koko’s highest level of membership for 30 days, complete with personal coaching during every workout. Those who join either of the Charleston Koko FitClub locations will have full access to both the downtown and Mt. Pleasant gyms. The downtown club will be located at 701 East Bay Street, Suite 103. The Mt. Pleasant club will be located at 1909 Hwy. 17N, Suite P210 near Towne Centre.
