National Speaker Kathy Hedge to Present “Engaging Your Board In Fundraising” on November 19

GREENVILLE, SC – DNA Creative Communications (DNA), in partnership with Hollingsworth Funds, Community Foundation of Greenville, Graham Foundation and United Way of Greenville County, is pleased to announce that Kathy Hedge, executive director, author and nonprofit consultant from Washington, D.C., will present at Shine the Light’s “Leading for Sustainability.” This event is part of the 2014 Nonprofit Forums and will take place on November 19 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Kroc Community Center.

“We are looking forward to this discussion about nonprofit fundraising and sharing Kathy’s expertise,” said Debbie Nelson, principal of DNA and founder of Shine the Light. “It’s vital to incorporate board members into the fundraising process and this session will teach nonprofit leaders how to do so.”

Kathy Hedge is the Executive Director of Parent Encouragement Program (PEP), a nonprofit organization providing classes, events and other educational resources to parents and all who care for children, toddlers through teens. She is the author of a BoardSource book, Engaging Your Board in Fundraising: A Staff’s Guide. Kathy also serves as a Nonprofit Consultant in the areas of fundraising, strategic planning and board development.

This Shine the Light session will focus on nonprofit fundraising and delve into the five keys for engaging board members in fundraising. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from a group of local nonprofit leaders who have managed many fundraising initiatives. Panelists will include:
