National Trails Day Celebration: Historic Bike Trail Ride to Old Hammonds Store

To celebrate National Trails Day, the Laurens County Trails Association (LCTA) is delighted to announce the upcoming bike ride to Old Hammonds Store, a historic site where a significant Revolutionary War battle unfolded. This event is part of LCTA’s ongoing efforts to highlight the county’s trails and rich Revolutionary War history through a unique biking experience. This event is a continuation of LCTA’s dedication to highlighting the county’s trails and heritage.

Teaming up with the Laurens County 250th Sestercentennial Revolutionary War Committee (LC250), LCTA aims to offer a fun day of learning and outdoor fun, all while encouraging people to get outside and be active.

“We’re thrilled to team up with LC250 for this unique biking experience,” said Bud Marchant, Executive Director of the Laurens County Trails Association. “Riding to Old Hammonds Store invites participants to soak in our county’s natural beauty while learning some history in a physically active manner.”

Scheduled for Saturday, June 1st at 9 am, the bike ride will start from The Vestibule Coffee and Tea (310 East Carolina Ave. Clinton, SC), covering a total distance of approximately 10 miles with a duration of about 45 minutes to an hour each way. Cyclists of all skill levels are encouraged to join this memorable event.

This event is proudly sponsored by the Laurens County Trails Association and Prisma Health.
