Nelson Mullins Elects Four to Partnership in Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC – January 7,  2011The partners of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP have elected Charleston attorneys Merritt Abney, Jay Claypoole, Robbie Whelan, and Eleni Roumel to partnership. Mr. Abney, Mr. Claypoole, and Mr. Whelan were former associates. Ms. Roumel was a former of counsel.

Ms. Roumel workson complex commercial litigation and class actions, includingsecurities, intellectual property, and trade secret matters.   

Mr. Abney (pictured below) practicesin the area of complex commercial litigation with a focus on disputesinvolving financial institutions, real property, and real estatedevelopment.


Mr. Claypoole handlesa wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including leasing,financing and development, as well as community association governancematters.
