Nephron Pharmaceuticals President Lou Kennedy announced today that the company will mandate COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment.

The Nephron Mandatory Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy states that all Nephron employees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, or at a minimum have received the first dose of a two-dose vaccine series, no later than August 27, 2021. All employees are required to have received the second dose of a two-dose series no later than September 30, 2021.

The policy does allow for an an employee to request an exemption or reasonable accommodation as long as it is received by August 27.

Nephron President Lou Kennedy stated: “I heard one local health care executive talk about the strain that new COVID-19 cases are putting on our health care system and frontline workers. If you or someone you love has a heart attack or stroke, chances are it will be difficult to find quality care in the Midlands because COVID-19 patients are stretching hospital capacities and resources.”

All visitors, vendors, and guests to Nephron will also be required to be fully vaccinated in order to enter Nephron property.

“I believe that this is a good move for the private sector,” said Kennedy, “and I hope that other businesses in the private sector will follow suit.”
