New Chamber Member Mack Rice Funeral and Cremations Welcomed to Laurens
July 26, 2026The Laurens County Chamber of Commerce welcomed its newest member, Mack Rice Funeral and Cremations, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, July 21, at the business at 314 Owings St. in Laurens.
Chamber officials, city leaders and community members gathered to celebrate the opening and to meet owner and CEO Mack L. Rice, CFSGM, who thanked those in attendance for their support.
“I appreciate the Chamber for being here today, and I thank the mayor for joining us as well,” Rice said. “I look forward to serving this community and doing whatever I can to be an asset to the people of Laurens. This is a new chapter for us, and I believe the best is yet to come.”
Mayor Nathan Senn attended the event and offered remarks, noting that Laurens was recently recognized as one of South Carolina’s 10 most hospitable cities. He tied that recognition to the work of a funeral home.
“What is being hospitable but making people feel welcome and making people feel cared for?” Senn said. “That is really your stock in trade. In a very difficult time in people’s lives, your business is to help families come together to celebrate a life and to feel cared for. Thank you for doing your part to make Laurens the hospitable city that it is.”
Mack Rice has more than 20 years of experience helping families celebrate the lives of their loved ones through personalized funeral and cremation services. The funeral home offers traditional funeral services, cremation services, memorial services and pre-planning, all guided by its motto, “Honoring Lives. Embracing Families.”
Mack Rice Funeral and Cremations is located at 314 Owings St., Laurens. The business can be reached at 864-715-0024 or online at www.mackricefuneralhome.com.
