New Faces, New Seasons: Rehana Gonzalez Takes the Helm of Mauldin’s Adult Sports Leagues

The City of Mauldin Parks and Recreation Department has officially expanded its team, naming Greenville native Rehana Gonzalez as the new Adult Programs and Community Events Coordinator.

Gonzalez joins the Mauldin Recreation team with a background tailored to the role, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina. Local officials highlighted her deep-seated passion for fitness, athletics, and community-building as key assets that will drive the city’s recreational programming forward.

In her new position, Gonzalez will oversee the development and execution of local adult sports leagues and community-wide events. She expressed a clear vision for the city’s recreational future, emphasizing a desire to build active, engaging social spaces for local residents.

“To create leagues you’ll look forward to every season!” Gonzalez stated regarding her primary objective. “I want to make our adult leagues a place where people can stay active, enjoy some friendly competition, reconnect with the sports they love, and build lasting friendships.”

When she isn’t managing programs at the Mauldin Sports Center (MSC) or across city parks, Gonzalez remains highly active herself. An avid soccer fan—which she names as her favorite sport—she also enjoys exploring new local restaurants, crafting, spending time with family, and practicing salsa dancing. She is also a passionate fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mauldin residents and league participants are encouraged to welcome Gonzalez if they see her out at city facilities.
