New Greenville Game Launches Nationwide

New Word Game Combines the Fun of Inventing Ridiculous Words with the Art of Persuasion

GREENVILLE, SC – An Army veteran and mother of two, who invented a game that has become so popular among her family and friends that she decided to bring it to market, today announced that she is launching her game nationwide. Redonkulary, invented by Greenville-based entrepreneur Kristin Miller Burrell, is a new word game that combines the fun of making up ridiculous words and corresponding definitions with the art of persuasion.

Each player takes a turn as the designated “Donkster” by creating a new word from three different word parts on three randomly selected cards. The other players then invent definitions for that made-up word and try to convince the “Donkster,” who ultimately selects the winner of each round, that their definition is best.

“I invented this game a few years ago when my family was on a long road trip and had run out of things to do. Since then, it has become our go-to game for entertainment—while on the road, at the dinner table, or just to have fun,” Burrell said. “After years of playing and refining the game together as a family, we named it Redonkulary.”

Burrell’s local manufacturing partner, emediagroup, began producing Redonkulary in June after Burrell met her fundraising goal on Kickstarter.  Local retailers began selling Redonkulary as soon as it became available. Burrell plans to launch Redonkulary nationwide on Amazon.com and on her website, Redonkulary.com, in mid-August.

Burrell attributes Redonkulary’s success to her supporters and especially the Greenville community.  To thank her supporters, Burrell is throwing a launch party at Boardwalk, 1175 Woods Crossing Rd. in  Greenville on Saturday, August 15 from 1:00-3:00pm.  Redonkulary’s launch party is open to the public.
