New Kids in Parks TRACK Trail to open at Joe Adair Center with Nov. 14 ribbon cutting

October 25, 2026

Families looking for a new reason to get outdoors in Laurens County will soon have one. The Joe Adair Center will celebrate the opening of its newest interactive trail with a ribbon cutting at noon Saturday, Nov. 14, during the center’s annual fall festival.

The new trail is part of the Kids in Parks TRACK Trail program and was made possible through a partnership with Kids in Parks and the Laurens County Trails Association. The Laurens County Conservation District and the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce are also taking part in the celebration.

Kids in Parks is a network of trails across the country designed to get children and families outside and connected to nature. Each TRACK Trail offers self-guided activities that turn an ordinary walk into an adventure, encouraging young hikers to explore, observe and learn as they go. Children can register their outings through the Kids in Parks program and earn prizes as they complete adventures, giving families a fun incentive to return again and again.

The addition gives the Joe Adair Center another way to fulfill its mission of getting people outdoors, while giving local families a free, hands-on outdoor experience close to home.

The ribbon cutting will take place during the fall festival, making it an easy stop for families already planning to attend. Organizers invite the community to come out, celebrate the new trail and be among the first to take it for a walk.
