New Monthly Science Speaker Series

March 9, 2021

SC INBRE introduces a brand-new speaker series entitled, “Thirsty Thursday.” Thirsty Thursdays are a laid back, online 20-30 minute scientific talk with Q&A and networking opportunities and open to the public. Grab your favorite beverage or try out a mocktail recipe based on the speaker’s favorite beverage and join us beginning at 7 pm on the third Thursday of each month.

The series kicks off on March 18 featuring Dr. Jason Rawlings from Furman University who will be speaking on “Chromatin dynamics in the epigenetic regulation of lymphocyte proliferation.” Rawlings is originally from Kentucky and a fan of bourbon; this month’s mocktail recipe is for a Mint Julep.

The series is open to all and presented via Zoom. Come quench your thirst for knowledge, learn about biomedical research in South Carolina, ask questions and meet other people with biomedical interests!
