New Morning president and CEO Bonnie Kapp receives National Family Planning and Reproductive Healthcare award
June 30, 2026Bonnie Adams Kapp, president and CEO of New Morning, a South Carolina nonprofit working to expand access to affordable reproductive healthcare and contraceptive services statewide, was recognized by the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA) as its 2026 Rosenfield Access Award recipient.
Given in honor of the late Dr. Allan Rosenfield, the award is presented to an individual or organization who exemplifies dedication to enhancing access to and the delivery of family planning and reproductive health services. It lauds achievement at the local, state, or national level for work that has improved public health. Rosenfield spent his career in service to women’s reproductive health and human rights, innovative family planning strategies, and inspiring and training generations of public health leaders.
“I’m humbled to be even remotely associated with the name Dr. Allan Rosenfield, a tireless advocate for women’s reproductive health,” said Kapp. “But most importantly, this award recognizes New Morning’s work to shape a better future for South Carolina’s women and families, especially critical in a state like ours with high concentrations of poverty and challenging provider access in rural areas. I’m proud to stand with this team delivering such life-changing outcomes for women across our state.”
Under Kapp’s leadership, New Morning developed and implemented the largest and longest-running state contraceptive access program in the US. Through its No Drama consumer education campaign, a network of 120+ partner clinics, and a 24/7 telehealth partner, the organization provides reproductive health education and access to free or low-cost birth control to low-income, uninsured women in South Carolina. The program serves more than 80,000 women annually and has connected more than 633,000 women to contraceptive care since launching in 2017.
NFPRHA’s awardee spotlight on Kapp credits her “longstanding commitment to serving her community” as instrumental in expanding low-cost access to family planning and reproductive health services across the state. Kapp has been with New Morning since its inception and has been an advocate for equitable access to reproductive healthcare her entire career.
