New parking lot opens in downtown Fountain Inn

Drivers and visitors to downtown Fountain Inn have more room to park this weekend with the opening of a new public parking lot at Jones and Wall streets.
The city announced that the lot is open and ready for use, adding roughly 61 spaces to the downtown area. Six of those are ADA-accessible, and the lot also includes designated spots for golf carts, which have become a common way to get around the city’s core.
A few finishing touches and beautification elements are still to come, but city officials said the lot is ready to welcome visitors in the meantime.
The project reflects continued investment in a downtown that has seen steady growth in recent years. Additional parking is intended to support local businesses, community events and the foot traffic that comes with both, particularly during weekends and festival dates when curbside spaces fill quickly.
City officials encouraged residents and visitors to come downtown and make use of the new spaces.
The lot is located at the corner of Jones and Wall streets, within walking distance of the downtown business district.
