New Product Development Training Program to be Offered in Cities Across South Carolina

September 10, 2009

COLUMBIA, SC – September 10, 2009  The South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership, the USC Moore School of Business, ECI Find New Markets, the South Carolina Manufacturer’s Alliance, the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, and New Carolina have partnered to offer a program designed to help SC businesses become more competitive, Profit 101! Advanced Product Development Strategies.  The course will be offered across the state in Columbia (September 18), Aiken (October 22 at Aiken Tech), Rock Hill (September 29), Greenwood (October 1), Charleston (October 6), Florence (October 8), and Greenville (October 23 at BMW).

The workshop is a half day training simulation that teaches a reliable system for accelerating profitable growth, more profitable products or services and how to reach more profitable customers and markets (imports/ exports, government contracting, new industries). This program also includes an interactive case study format that makes the teaching come to life. It is based on SCMEP’s Eureka Winning Ways (EWW!) used by several SC manufacturers that applies the research of 4,000 ideas and 6,000 innovations that were studied to discover what drives success. EWW! helps companies reduce cycle time by 50%, increase product delivery to 90%, and reduce manufacturing cost by 30%.

Attendees will learn why it is important to know the difference between features and benefits; why consumers of a product need a real reason to believe; how to leverage diversity in a company’s product ideas; why a company should start behaving like a startup company and more!  The program is created for the entire management team including CEOs, Presidents, COOs, CROs, sales, marketing, R&D teams, engineers and others.

The training simulation program can help any company that is looking to diversify or differentiate itself from the competition in the pursuit of profitable growth.
