New Vitamin Shoppe, McAlister’s Deli and EyeMart Express coming to Sumter

Athens/Atlanta, GA based Butler Properties and Development develops a new shopping center for national retailers.
SUMTER, SC – Butler Properties and Development is pleased to announce that we are developing the latest location for Vitamin Shoppe, McAlister’s Deli and Eyemart Express in Sumter, SC. The shopping center will be 9,100 square feet and is located at 1177 Broad Street, Sumter, SC. The shopping center is currently under construction and the tenants are slated to open for business on or before December 1st of 2016. The architect for the shopping center is Columbia, SC based Sherer & Associates and the general contractor is Advance, NC based Davie Construction Co.
In a statement regarding the new development, Travis A. Butler, President and founder of Butler Properties & Development said, “The $4.2 Million project will generate over 200 construction and permanent jobs, hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes, fees and revenue for the City of Sumter, SC over its life cycle and that’s exciting to create”.
Vitamin Shoppe is a New Jersey based retailer of nutritional supplements with over 700 locations in 45 states. McAlister’s Deli, founded in 1989, is a fast casual restaurant chain known for their sandwiches, spuds, soups, salads, desserts and McAlister’s Famous Sweet Tea. In addition to dine-in and take-out service, they also offer catering with a selection of sandwich trays, box lunches, desserts, a hot spud bar and more. With numerous industry accolades, the McAlister’s brand has 341 restaurants in 24 states.
EyeMart Express, founded in 1990, is the 8th largest optical retailer in the nation. As of 2016, they have over 160 locations across 34 states. They are known for providing affordable prescription eyewear to everyone and everywhere.
