New Year’s Day Fire in Clinton Displaces First Responder Family

January 1, 2021

Another fire in Laurens County leaves a family of three with nothing.

This morning around 10:30 a fire broke out at the home of Cody Heithold and his fiancé, Mary Moss. The fire and the related smoke damage have destroyed all of their belongings.

Heithold is a police officer with the Clinton Police Department and was on duty at the time of the fire.  Moss who works for the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office, animal control division, and their 12-year-old son escaped the fire without injury.

The home and all belongings are a total loss.

Laurens County residents opened their hearts and wallets recently for the victims of the Landau and Joanna fires.  Now we need to help this first responder family get back on their feet.
