As a parent and expert on finance, Ron Lieber makes the case that building family conversations about money is one of the best ways we can teach kids great values. During his talk, Lieber will bring this conversation to life, addressing topics such as why your teenager should know how much money you make, why peer-pressure doesn’t exist but parent pressure is overwhelming, how embracing the connection between money and values helps children become less materialistic, and how to answer the tough money question’s children ask, such as “How much money do you make?,” “Are we rich or poor?”and “Why do they have more than us?.”

Lieber will engage parents in a conversation and asks attendees to bring the toughest questions children have ever asked them about money as well as stories of their own efforts to raise grounded young kids who know how to save, splurge and give in the most mature and meaningful ways.

Ron Lieber will speak to families on October 26, 2015 at 7:00 PM at the Katie & Irwin Kahn Jewish Community Center and will sign books following his talk. The event is generously sponsored by Abacus Financial Group and is free for the public. Seating, however, is limited and advance registration is requested at www.yourfoundation.org/RonLieber. Childcare is available to those who register in advance.
