Newberry College gives back to alumni with new 20% tuition benefit

New Alumni Tuition Benefit expands access to online undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs
Newberry College is celebrating the people who have helped shape its 170-year history by investing in where they go next.
The College announced the Newberry College Alumni Tuition Benefit, providing eligible alumni with a 20% tuition reduction on online undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees, and graduate certificates. The benefit is designed to support alumni at different stages of their educational and professional journeys, including those returning to finish a degree they started at Newberry and graduates pursuing an advanced degree or specialized credential.
The initiative reflects Newberry’s commitment to maintaining lifelong relationships with its alumni and to giving back to graduates and former students who continue to carry their Newberry experiences into their careers, families, and communities.
“For 170 years, our alumni have taken what they gained at Newberry and used it to make a difference far beyond our campus,” said Dr. David Harpool, president of Newberry College. “They have invested their talents in their professions, their families, and their communities. This benefit is one way we can invest back in them, not simply by celebrating where they’ve been, but by helping create opportunities for where they want to go next.”
For graduates, the benefit provides a more affordable pathway to return to Newberry to earn an advanced degree, develop specialized expertise, prepare for leadership, or pursue a new professional direction.
The benefit also extends to former Newberry students who began their education at the College but did not complete their degree, providing an opportunity to return through an eligible online undergraduate program and finish what they started.
Eligible Newberry alumni who are already enrolled in qualifying online programs will also be able to receive the tuition reduction beginning with their next semester start.
“Every alum has a different Newberry story, and every next chapter looks different,” Harpool said. “For some, it may mean earning a master’s degree. For others, it could be gaining expertise through a graduate certificate or coming back to complete a degree that life once put on hold. Wherever they are in that journey, we want our alumni to know they still belong here.”
Newberry alumni serve as educators, business leaders, healthcare professionals, public servants, coaches, entrepreneurs, and community leaders across South Carolina and beyond. The College sees continued investment in their education as an investment that reaches well beyond the individual student.
The new benefit builds on Newberry’s expanding portfolio of online programs designed to provide working adults with flexible pathways to continue their education while balancing professional and personal responsibilities.
Eligible alumni can use the 20% tuition reduction toward qualifying online undergraduate degree programs, graduate degree programs, and graduate certificates.
