Newmark Grubb Wilson Kibler welcomes Det Bowers as Managing Director

COLUMBIA, SC – Newmark Grubb Wilson Kibler is pleased to announce the addition of Det Bowers to our team. Mr. Bowers will be the Managing Director over our statewide offices.
“With Marshall Kibler’s unanticipated death in mid-March, the board, with recommendations from the Company, elected to go outside for a new Managing Director, primarily to allow us to maintain production while having an administrator who can invest the required time on many fronts,” said Jeremy Wilson, Broker-in-Charge and Chairman of the Board. “I have known Det for thirty years and he brings a wide array of experiences to the table that we believe can aid us in moving the Company forward.”

Mr. Bowers is a former pastor of Christ Church of the Carolinas, and served as a licensed attorney for 20 years in Federal, State and Municipal Courts. Mr. Bowers also holds a long political career as well: ran for Senate GOP Primary in 2014, S.C. House in 1980, ran Lt. Gov. Nick Theodore’s successful campaign in 1986, and chaired Michael Dukakis’ state Democratic presidential campaign in 1988. Other business involvements include real estate development, agribusiness, outdoor advertising and insurance.
Born in Estill, South Carolina and married to his high school sweetheart, Polly, Mr. Bowers and his wife now reside in Columbia and have three sons, three daughter-in-law’s and six grandchildren.
Mr. Bowers graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wofford College with a government degree; received his Law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and his Masters of Divinity from Columbia International University.
