Nexsen Pruet adds Mark Harmon as Government Affairs Advisor

South Carolina public policy veteran Mark Harmon has joined Nexsen Pruet. He will work with the firm’s Public Policy and Governmental Affairs Group in Columbia.

Mark brings to the firm deep experience in Palmetto State politics and economic development. His areas of focus include grass roots advocacy and media campaigns, with a particular emphasis on state and federal regulation of critical industries and issues such as energy and sustainability.

Before Nexsen Pruet, Harmon served as executive director of the South Carolina Petroleum Council, Vice President of Government Affairs for the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, Executive Director of the South Carolina Senate Republican Caucus and as Majority Research Director of the Senate of South Carolina.

A graduate of Clemson University, Mark has also served on the DHEC Superb Advisory Committee, and as a liaison to the South Carolina Emergency Management Division during natural disasters. He serves his community as a board member of the Free Medical Clinic of Columbia and Keep the Midlands Beautiful.
