Nexsen Pruet Awards 10 Scholarships to Minority Law School Students

COLUMBIA, SC – April 1, 2008 – Nexsen Pruet has awarded 10 law school scholarships through its Diversity Scholarship Program.  The 2008 winners represent the future of the legal profession.

Nexsen Pruet annually awards up to 10 scholarships to exceptional minority students who are entering their first year of law school and planning careers in North or South Carolina. In addition to the $3,000 scholarship, the students may be considered for summer employment in one of Nexsen Pruet’s seven offices.

“We have had a longstanding commitment to diversity, and to the belief that our firm and our profession should reflect and represent the communities we serve,” said Leighton Lord, Chairman of Nexsen Pruet. “We created this scholarship in that spirit.”

·        Danielle McLean, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law

·        Nader Raja, Wake Forest University School of Law

·        Azaria Tesfa, Wake Forest University School of Law

·        Neubia Williams, Wake Forest University School of Law

Students attending North Carolina Central University School of Law, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law, Wake Forest University School of Law, the University of South Carolina School of Law, and Charleston Law School are eligible.
