Nexsen Pruet earns diversity, equity, and inclusion certification

October 18, 2022

Diversity Lab announced today that Nexsen Pruet has achieved Mansfield Rule 5.0 Certification. All Mansfield-certified firms have completed a 12-month collaboration with Diversity Lab with built-in measurement, transparency, and accountability. Each certified firm has shown a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and are making meaningful progress on diversifying law firm leadership.

Named for Arabella Mansfield, the first woman lawyer in the United States, the goal of the Mansfield Rule program is to emphasize the importance of offering leadership positions to women and minorities in the legal profession.

Nexsen Pruet Chairman Leighton Lord said, “I am proud of what we have done as a firm over the past several years to put Nexsen Pruet in position to become Mansfield Certified.   We are built around a diverse workforce that allows for open dialogue, new ideas and opportunities for everyone.  As a firm, we are committed to continue building a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.”

The Mansfield Rule Certification measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered at least 30 percent women, underrepresented racial/ethnic groups, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitch opportunities, and senior lateral positions.
