Nexsen Pruet Named One of the 250 Largest Law Firms in the U.S.

November 9, 2009

COLUMBIA, SC – November 9, 2009 – Nexsen Pruet has once again been named one of the 250 largest law firms in the country by The National Law Journal.

The publication surveyed approximately 300 U.S. firms.  The National Law Journal found that law firms had made the largest cuts since the publication started tracking the statistics three decades ago.

Despite that, Nexsen Pruet had a total of 177 attorneys practicing at its eight office locations across the Carolinas ranking it in the No. 233 position in the survey.  When surveyed in 2008, the firm had 174 attorneys and came in at No. 250 on the list.

“It’s been a very busy, yet rewarding year for our law firm,” said Leighton Lord, chairman of the board of Nexsen Pruet. “In January, we expanded our footprint by joining forces with what used to be Sanford Holshouser firm in Raleigh, and we have made several strategic hires in order to better serve our clients.  The fruits of our labor are evident – Nexsen Pruet attorneys played a key role in negotiating the incentives package that ultimately lured Boeing to build a plant in South Carolina.”

Nexsen Pruet made the National Law Journal list previously in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008.
