Nexsen Pruet's Rick Reames to Chair SC Bar Tax Section

COLUMBIA, SC – August 19, 2008 – Rick Reames, a Member (partner) in Nexsen Pruet’s Columbia office, has been selected as chairman of the South Carolina Bar Association’s Tax Section for 2008-2009.

Reames practices throughout South Carolina in the areas of trusts and estates planning and administration, taxation with an emphasis on state and local taxation, and general transactional law.

A large portion of his trusts and estates practice involves family succession planning with respect to real estate and closely-held businesses. He also advises and represents large and small businesses facing income, property, and sales tax issues.

Reames earned his undergraduate degree from Wofford College and his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He later earned his L.L.M. degree in taxation from New York University School of Law.
