Nichols receives inaugural President’s Award from the Injured Workers’ Advocates

November 19, 2014

COLUMBIA, SC – John Nichols, member of Bluestein, Nichols, Thompson & Delgado, LLC (BNTD), is the first recipient of the Injured Workers’ Advocates (IWA) President’s Award. The award was presented at IWA’s annual conference in Asheville, North Carolina.

IWA is a nonprofit association of attorneys dedicated to protecting and advancing the rights of injured workers and their families in South Carolina. The President’s Award recognizes members who devote their time and talents to move the association and its mission forward.

“John does many things for our association that few know about,” said Gary Christmas, current President of IWA. “In the last year alone he drafted proposed legislation, testified at subcommittee hearings, advised on policy matters and has been an active member of the Judicial Affairs Committee. He does a phenomenal job every time. He is, as the Chief Justice called him, ‘the gold standard’.”

In addition to Nichols, BNTD attorneys Marti Bluestein, Blake Hewitt and Allison Sullivan are also active members of IWA. Sullivan was recently elected to serve on the IWA Executive Committee through November 2016 and Hewitt was named chairman of the Judicial Affairs committee.
