Nicholson named SIOR president

Notable Real Estate/Economic Trends Featured at Economic Conference hosted by SIOR new President Laurens Nicholson 

 

GREENVILLE, SC – May 1, 2014 – Laurens Nicholson CCIM, SIOR was inducted as SIOR’s new Chapter President at the recent Charlotte annual spring conference where major economic and real estate trends were highlighted. Specifically, well-known Wells Fargo Managing Director and Senior Economist Mark Vitner presented his findings on the state of the regional economy and commercial/industrial real estate climate:

  • More than $90 million of real estate business has been conducted in a 500-mile radius from the Charlotte metro area in 2013, including Greenville SC;
  • The inland port in Upstate SC will help aid economic growth;
  • The low cost of energy is a major asset for growth in the area;
  • Office and retail sectors are growing at a modest pace;
  • Industrial sector has seen an increase in demand.
