Non Profit Minute – Jada Guess, Power in Changing

August 2, 2018

The Who’s on the Move, BizSC, Non Profit Minute is a quick, one minute interview in support of the amazing impact that local non profits have on our communities.

We would like to thank our sponsors of this video series – The Sisters of Charity Foundation and NP Strategy.

Jada Guess, Program Administrator, Power in Changing

Power in Changing was formed to help meet a growing need in South Carolina. Most forms of financial assistance do not provide funds for diapering needs.

Based out of Columbia, they service the Midlands and surrounding communities. Their efforts are spent collecting donated diapers (and cash donations for the purchase of diapers) that are distributed free-of-charge to low-income households in South Carolina through existing service providers, including local food banks, daycare centers, social service agencies and shelters.

Power in Changing has four main program areas:

  • Emergency diaper services
  • Family empowerment
  • Community baby showers
  • Baby Box program to reduce the incidence of SIDS, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome

The 3rd Annual Community Baby Shower will take place August 19, from 2 PM to 5 PM, at Wine & Design.
