North Charleston Medical Center adds mental health services; patients can book back-to-back mental/physical appointments

March 11, 2020

Truesdale Medical Center is adding mental health services to its roster of primary and urgent care services. Starting April 1, Sarah Yum, MA, LMFT, will provide seasoned counseling services to patients at the North Charleston center.

A graduate of Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, NC, Yum has extensive training in family therapy and specializes in relational/marital issues, clients who have experienced trauma or abuse, and members of the LGBTQ community in their families.

“I welcome appointments for individuals, couples or families who just want a one-time perspective, or for those seeking long-term counseling for complex issues,” said Yum. “We want all Truesdale patients to feel healthy both physically and emotionally.”

While most mental health professionals in the region do not accept health insurance, Yum’s will accept Medicaid/Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna and Tri-Care. Uninsured patients pay $85 per 50 minute session; $100 for 90 minutes. All appointments are confidential. Spanish interpretation can be available.

Patients can also book back-to-back medical and mental health appointments.

Truesdale Medical Center is located at 6296 Rivers Avenue, Suite 310. General clinic hours are Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. to noon. Call 843 285 6474 or visit www.truesdalemedical.org
