Northwestern Mutual’s Executive Director of Recruitment named 2023 Forty Under 40 Honoree

Claire Bray, Northwestern Mutual’s Executive Director of Recruitment for Northwestern Mutual -Greenville and Spartanburg, was selected as GSA Business Report’s 2023 Forty Under 40 honoree and recognized during an awards ceremony on June 29, 2023, in Greenville. Accomplished professionals who are 40 years of age or younger are nominated by the community based on their leadership accomplishments at work and in the community. The top 40 professionals are named honorees by GSA Business Report annually.

Bray also was named the 2022 “Recruiter of the Year” for Northwestern Mutual, and her team received “The Team Award,” which recognizes the top Network Office in the nation based on the successful development of new advisors. A 2007 graduate of Furman University, Bray earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communications and after working in sales, hospitality and event management joined Northwestern Mutual in 2017 as a recruiter.

“Claire has directly contributed to the growth and success of Northwestern Mutual in the Upstate, whose office ranks in the top 5 nationally for Northwestern Mutual,” said John Tripoli, managing director of Northwestern Mutual Greenville/Spartanburg. “She is also actively working to make Greenville a better place to live through her work at the United Way, and she is an extremely valuable member of the Greenville and Spartanburg leadership team.”

Bray, a mother to two girls, is an active member of United Way of Greenville’s “Young Leaders Society,” a network of engaged people under the age of 40 who share a passion for helping others and strengthening Greenville. She recently served as Chair of the “Young Leaders” Social and actively helps members connect through unique education and networking events. Bray also leads Northwestern Mutual’s annual United Way employee campaign and coordinated the office’s participation in the United Way School Tools event, which helps 3,000 children have the supplies and tools they need to start school.
