NuVox Names Solomon Chief Financial Officer

October 23, 2008

GREENVILLE, SC – October 23, 2008 – NuVox, a leading competitive communications provider, announced today that David Solomon has been named Chief Financial Officer. As a telecom veteran, Solomon’s career spans over 15 years with leadership roles in strategic planning, finance, and communications technology. During the past eight years, Solomon has provided NuVox invaluable leadership and strategic guidance from a variety of vantage points.

David’s extensive telecommunications background, first-hand knowledge of NuVox, and depth of his capital markets experience made him the perfect choice, commented Jim Akerhielm, Chief Executive Officer for NuVox. Even more important than David’s skills and experience is the strength of his character. David is a fine leader and it has been a privilege for me to work with him over the past several years.

In addition to his new duties as NuVox’s Chief Financial Officer, Solomon will continue to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for NuVox. In that capacity, he has been instrumental in the company’s M&A activities as well as the company’s debt and equity financings.

Over the past eight years, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing NuVox grow and develop into an industry leader, commented David Solomon, Chairman and Chief Financial Officer for NuVox. Even in tough economic times, NuVox remains financially strong and maintains a clear vision of long term goals. I’m very excited to take on the responsibilities of CFO, to work with Jim Akerhielm and the rest of a very talented management team, and to contribute to NuVox’s continued successes.

Prior to his tenure at NuVox, Solomon was the Chief Financial Officer of Brooks Fiber. Solomon was instrumental in growing Brooks Fiber into a leading nationwide telecom provider and taking the company public. Prior to Brooks Fiber, Solomon was a partner at KPMG.
