Office of Resilience and Sustainability to host Waterwise: Charleston open houses

The City of Charleston’s Office of Resilience & Sustainability is hosting a series of open houses to provide residents with crucial information and resources on how water is affecting their communities, including what the city is doing to mitigate flooding.

These events will offer an opportunity for residents to learn more about the city’s plans for water management and conservation, with a direct focus on how these efforts will impact your neighborhood. You’ll have the opportunity to:

• Learn about current and future flood management strategies like the Water Plan and the Basin Flood Action Program.
• Find your basin and current stormwater management projects in your area through interactive information tables and floor maps.
• Discover innovative solutions and resources for water challenges, both locally and city-wide.

Residents are encouraged to attend any of the events across the city to connect with community organizations, environmental experts, and city leaders who are working to shape Charleston’s water future. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, share their perspectives, and learn how these efforts will directly benefit their neighborhoods.

May 19th: Peninsula: Main Library (4:30-7:30 pm)
May 28th Daniel Island: Daniel Island Recreation Center (4:30-7:30 pm)
May 29th: Johns Island: Haut Gap Middle School (4:30-7:30 pm)
