OTO Development promotes Kelly Haager to Regional VP/Sales

June 27, 2022

Kelly Haager has been promoted to Regional Vice President of Sales at OTO Development. A long-time company leader, she brings a wealth of experience in revenue strategy development and execution to this newly created position.

OTO Development, part of The Johnson Group, is headquartered in South Carolina and operates ~70 hotels across the country. The company owns some of these properties and manages others via third-party contracts with outside owners.

In her new role, Haager oversees OTO’s owned assets. She works with hotel and regional sales, marketing and revenue management teams to maximize profit potential at every property in the company’s owned portfolio; she is also responsible for sales task force deployment and the development of ancillary revenue opportunities.

“Kelly brings the ideal blend of business acumen and personal charm to the VP level,” says Lisa Giaimo, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at OTO Development. “She is aggressive about making her numbers, enthusiastic about mentoring her team and passionate about ensuring a positive client experience.”

Haager joined OTO Development in June 2006 in an on-property sales position and quickly moved into corporate roles of increasing responsibility. By implementing aggressive sales strategies, innovative outreach programs and scalable training, she has consistently ensured that performance objectives are achieved at every hotel under her purview. During her 16-year tenure with OTO, Haager has been part of 30 successful hotel openings.

“It’s a privilege to support smart, talented people like Kelly as they grow their careers with us,” Giaimo says. “We’re always pleased when we can promote from within as OTO builds the best team in hospitality.”

Prior to her career with OTO, Haager worked as an operations manager for Carlson Restaurants. She holds an undergraduate degree in hospitality management from Eastern Illinois University and an MBA from Roosevelt University-Chicago. The mother of two elementary-aged children, Haager is a long-time volunteer via the Junior League of Gainesville and an avid tennis player.
