Parker Poe Board Elects Ray Jones as New Member

CHARLOTTE, NC – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP announced today that two new attorneys have been elected to its board of directors.

Partners Ray Jones and Russell Killen will officially begin their role as board members on Jan. 1, 2015.

Mr. Jones works in the Firm’s Banking & Finance group, advising governments on how to structure incentive packages to lure new business and industry to their communities and counseling corporations with respect to these matters.

For the last six years, Mr. Jones has been named to Woodward/White’s The Best Lawyers in America in Economic Development. He received his JD, Master of International Business Studies and Bachelor of Science degrees all from the University of South Carolina.

Mr. Killen represents clients in the areas of complex construction and development related claims. He has also worked with clients and industry groups to develop construction contracts that appropriately address emerging issues such as integrated project delivery methods and the use of Building Information Modeling on construction projects.

In addition to his roles at Parker Poe, Mr. Killen is also the mayor of Knightdale, N.C. He also serves on the North Carolina League of Municipalities Planning & Environment Legislative Action Committee, the executive committee of Wake Education Partnership and is the immediate Past President of the Wake County Mayor’s Association. Mr. Killen received his JD from Duke University and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Parker Poe’s board of directors is comprised of seven attorneys who serve staggered, three-year terms.
