Partner Breon C. M. Walker Chosen by the South Carolina Chamber’s Diversity Council as a Committee Member

COLUMBIA, SC – Gallivan, White & Boyd, P.A. announced Breon C. M. Walker has been chosen by the South Carolina Chamber’s Diversity Council as its newest committee member. The mission of the South Carolina Diversity Council is to encourage, support and educate employers as they seek to value and strengthen diversity in the workplace.
Walker joined Gallivan, White & Boyd as an associate in 2011 and was elected as a partner in 2013. She is a member of the firm’s Business and Commercial Practice Group and Insurance Practice Group in Gallivan, White & Boyd’s Columbia, South Carolina office. Walker’s practice focuses on motor vehicle liability, premises liability, product liability and commercial litigation, with extensive experience trying cases to verdict.
Walker’s dedication to her practice has led to her recognition in Nation’s Best Advocates: 40 Lawyers Under 40 by the National Bar Association in 2013. She also has been listed by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” for three consecutive years (2012-2014) and was recognized as one of South Carolina’s Top Ten Emerging Legal Leaders in 2011 by South Carolina Lawyers Weekly.
Walker is also very active in the legal and civic communities both locally and nationally. Locally she is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the Richland County Bar Association where she served as co-chair of the Young Lawyers’ Division from 2009-2014, and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association as a member of the Executive Committee and the 2013-2014 Editor-in-Chief of the organization’s publication, The Defense Line. Nationally, Walker is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the National Bar Association and the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. She is also a member of the Columbia (SC) Chapter of The Links, Inc., and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team for the March of Dimes African-American Achievement Awards.
