Pawmetto Lifeline Acknowledges Local Business for Support and Partnership

June 18, 2014

COLUMBIA, SC-The partnership between Hometown Radio and local non-profit animal rescue, Pawmetto Lifeline, was recognized last week during the June Quarterly Pawmetto Lifeline Board meeting at the Bower Parkway facility. Hometown Radio representatives, including DJ Mike “Roc Doc” Allen, were on hand to accept a plaque and gracious words of thanks from the organization founder and Board President, Deloris Mungo.

Hometown Radio has been a supporter of Pawmetto Lifeline for the last two years and hosts weekly spots for the animal rescue to promote their programs and their “best practices” approach to ending pet overpopulation in the Midlands. In 2013, over 11,700 companion pets were euthanized just for being homeless. Hometown Radio is helping Pawmetto Lifeline combat those numbers by providing opportunities to share information with their listeners.

This spring, Hometown Radio went above and beyond in their support of Pawmetto Lifeline by hosting a seven day radio-a-thon that led up to the largest animal event of the year in the Midlands, Bark to the Park. Increased participation and awareness of this event can be directly attributed to this generous sponsorship and Pawmetto Lifeline was able to exceed their goal of saving more lives from local municipal shelters.

Pawmetto Lifeline looks forward to continuing the collaboration with Hometown Radio and is thrilled to have another supportive business partner in the community.
