July 26, 2022

The Presbyterian College athletic department and athletic director Rob Acunto announced Tuesday the hiring of Lu Steinfeldt as Head Cheerleading Coach. Steinfeldt comes to PC after completing a successful athletic career at Alma College.

“The training and competitive experience Lu gained as a member of an elite intercollegiate Competitive Cheer program that won consecutive NCA National Championships in 2021 and 2022, and was the National Runner-Up in 2019, will benefit our program as we seek to also have a championship caliber program.  In addition to her competitive success, Lu’s vision to further improve and grow of our program made her the ideal choice. We are excited to have Lu join the Blue Hose family and we’re looking forward to the success she will help our Cheer program and student-athletes achieve.”

Steinfeldt was a part of the 2021 & 2022 NCA Advanced All-Girl DIII National Champions at Alma while also earning a National Runner Up at the 2019 championship. “She was also a part of the 2021 & 2022 DIII Stunt National Champions and a National Runner Up as well during her time at Alma.

She has also spent time working as an All-Star cheerleading coach. Steinfeldt has worked with many athletes of all ages and is USASF Certified levels 1 through 6.”

“I am very excited for the opportunity I have been given at PC. Cheerleading has always been a passion of mine. With the continued support of the college, I can’t wait to grow the program and see how successful it becomes. Go Blue Hose,” commented Steinfeldt.
