Beginning Friday, Aug. 19, the Peace Center will offer 50 books to be lent out through the Peace Center box office, which is open MondaySaturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Books may be borrowed for up to two weeks at a time, with a limit of one per household.

Mark Haddon’s novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time was published in 2003. It was the winner of more than 17 literary awards, including prizes in the United States, Japan, Holland and Italy, as well as the Whitbread Book of the Year Award in the United Kingdom in 2004, and has been translated into 44 languages.

On Broadway, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time won five 2015 Tony Awards, including Best Play. Hailed as “One of the most fully immersive works ever to wallop Broadway” by The New York Times, this “dazzling” (Associated Press) new play by Simon Stephens is adapted from Haddon’s best-selling novel and directed by Tony winner Marianne Elliott.
